If you enjoy back country canoeing and good musky and bass fishing, then you may want to consider a fishing trip on the North Fork of the Flambeau River. The Flambeau River from the Turtle Flambeau Dam downstream to the vacation rental is a half to whole day trip depending on amount of time you want to fish. You can exit further downstream at either Holt or Agenda landings and easily make this into a 2 day trip if you would like.
What makes this river so unique is not the size or the depth, but a combination of both. The outstanding fishing on the river draws little attention and fishing pressure is low but produces trophy muskies. The rock and boulder stream bed produces small rapids which produces excellent small mouth bass fishing.
The wilderness setting is another factor as it is all State of Wisconsin land on either side of the river (with the EXCEPTION of our property and our neighors which are privately owned) from the Turtle Flambeau Dam to Holt Landing.
Wildlife abounds all through the float trip. We are sure you will see all kinds of wildlife on your trip. In the past years we have observed several nests of eagles along the river.
